5 Days Mountain Elgon Hiking Safari begins at the Entebbe International Airport where our guide welcomes you and takes you through a meet and greet session then later transfers you to the Eastern Part of Uganda at Mountain Elgon National Park which spans across the border of Uganda and Kenya.

Day 1: Arrival-Budadiri Sasa Camp

Day by Day Itinerary of the 5 Days Mountain Elgon Hiking Safari
Day 1: Arrival-Budadiri Sasa Camp 2900m
On arrival, you will be picked up by a representative who will transfer you on a 5 hour journey via Mabira Forest to Mbale town and Budadiri. You will transfer direct to the Mountain’s Sasa Trail which starts at Budadiri at 1250 m close to Mbale Town at the gate of Mt. Elgon National Park.
The hike in the morning is steep and fast involving transferring through the “Wall of Death” which will take you through a rain forest and the bamboo zone to the lunar landscape. Return back to the Sasa River Camp 2900m for dinner and Overnight and the trail will take a distance of approximately 8 kms for a period of 7-8 hours, 1700 m walk.
Day 2: Transfer from Sasa camp-Mude Camp
Wake up early in the morning have breakfast at the campsite then later transfer through the forest to the summit base camp also referred to as the Mude Cave Campsite where you will have dinner and an Overnight. The trek will take you a period of approximately 4 -5 hours, 600m elevation.
Day 3: Mude Camp-Wagagai Peak at 4321m then return to Mude
Wake up have an early breakfast then transfer through the moorland zone which will lead you to the top of the Wagagai peak. After reaching the peak, you will enjoy viewing beautiful sceneries then after, you will return to the Mude campsite for dinner and overnight a walk that will take 8-9 hours of elevation-820m. As you descend you can opt to transfer through the Sasa Trail traversing the caldera.
Day 4: Mude-Budadiri
You will take breakfast in the morning then later transfer as you descend to Budadiri where you will leave for Mbale Town. You will rest and have your dinner and Overnight in your preferred lodge/ hotel.
Day 5: Jinja-Departure
Wake up at your pace, have breakfast then prepare to transfer to Jinja at the Source of the prominent River Nile and here you will spot where the white Nile and Lake Victoria adjoin. Break off for lunch at the Sunset Hotel overlooking the Nile River.
You will proceed with your journey to the busy Kampala city to your hotel for relaxation and Overnight or transfer direct to the Airport to board your flight back home.
